May your hand help me,
Psalms 119:173-174 (NET Second Edition)
for I choose to obey your precepts. I long for your deliverance, O LORD;
I find delight in your law.
We all get to choose our world view, which is essentially our spirituality. This forms the lens through which we view ourselves, our purpose, how we understand the world, and most importantly, our ultimate destiny.
God’s deliverance, help, and salvation are contingent on our choice. Every day I have to get up in the morning and choose God. This means a commitment to follow Christ and his ways. They are not the ways of the culture which go in the opposite direction.
Having lived on both sides of the line that demarcates death from life, I choose life. I choose his ways. That’s consistent with what the psalmist wrote thousands of years ago and it’s still true today.
Oh Lord, Maker of Heaven and earth, give me understanding according to your word that I will know and choose your ways.
