He who sits in the heavens laughs,
Psalms 2:4-6 (NASB)
The Lord scoffs at them.
Then He will speak to them in His anger
And terrify them in His fury, saying,
“But as for Me, I have installed My King
Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”
What’s is the Lord’s response to those who plot against him, who discard His ways as if they mean nothing, who oppress His people and persecuted them, who pursue their own ways as if they are better? They actually think they will prevail over the Almighty.
This is our world culture today. It is being driven towards the goals of ancient spiritual entities that oppose the God of Heaven which have always been to pervert God’s creation, most particularly mankind, and destroy us. Why?
Humans were made in the image and likeness of God to rule and reign with him, under his authority and the authority of messiah. And so these evil spiritual entities want us gone! They know they can’t win but they want to do as much damage as possible to the purpose of God.
What about their plots against the Most High? The Lord responded already. It’s captured above in the verse from Psalm 2.
Evil men driven by demonic forces have their plans as the psalm says. But the Lord has ordained that which will be. His King, the Messiah Jesus Christ, will rule from God’s holy mountain.
Who do you align with? Ancient pagan spirits? Evil people controlled by them? We all must choose. The rest of Psalm 2 gives some advice about that choice with a warning.
Our eternal destiny depends on the choices we make.
Choose wisely. Choose Christ.
