Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (NASB)
Have you ever heard about the “harpazo”, the forceful removal of the church from the earth by the Lord. This is the Greek word translated as “rapture” which is how people know this event. Some even in the church believe this is an innovative doctrine that emerged in the mid 19th century. But it actually originated with the apostle Paul and is a rich doctrine found in the New Testament.
Paul described in this verse what happens when the church is called to heaven in the rapture. This is the moment believers receive immortal, glorified bodies and instantly meet the Lord in the air. Supernatural. Not in the Sunday bulletin. But it will happen at the ordained time.
Many scoff, even among those who profess to believe, at the supernatural teaching of the Bible. The scoffing itself is part of what was predicted, as the great falling away from faith continues. It’s heart breaking. We are so close to this event. We should be longing for his appearing. Do you long for His appearing and meeting the Lord in the air? Do you scoff at it? Many will be left wondering what happened to their believing family members and friends.
Believing or not believing does not change the reality that God will bring, only one’s place in it. Search the scriptures with an honest and good heart and believe.
Lord I long to be with You. Receive those who believe to yourself that we can be with you where you are.
